Muriel Lovo, aka Loupmania, is a graduate of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Vallauris, ceramics department.
She works using traditional techniques, including throwing, slabbing, pelleting, sculpture-modelling and stamping. Her pieces come to life in her studio. Throughout the process, she envelops her
porcelain in a delicate breath. She caresses them. She protects them and takes particular care with the drying process, to avoid "losses" during firing. If decoration is required, it is applied
by hand, usually with a brush or a pear... She composes my glazes to obtain the colours revealed during a high-temperature firing. She also colours her porcelain paste in the body. She prefers
the unglazed, biscuit feel, although she sometimes applies a layer of glaze that she prepares in the studio.
Her sources of inspiration are nature, tenderness and her own emotions, sometimes imbued with delicate poetry...
Her workshop is resolutely focused on creation, innovation, transmission and sharing the skills of an art form.
