Olivia Cognet, french ceramist LA, los angeles, céramics vallauris, design, ceramic lamps, ceramic fresco

Since moving to Los Angeles in 2016, French artist and designer Olivia Cognet has focused on working with ceramics as a fertile medium through which to express her boundless creativity.

With the freedom of this material, Olivia Cognet explores every conceivable shape and size, creating monumental bas-reliefs and giant totems, as well as chairs, tables, lamps and vases...

These one-of-a-kind pieces are handmade by the artist in her studio, and all share the same high sense of aesthetics, abstraction and graphic standards.

She draws her inspiration from the light and shadows of the Californian landscape, its modern architecture and the intensity of nature.

Olivia Cognet grew up in Nice, on the Côte d'Azur, studied at the Villa Arson and was nurtured by the images of the brilliant masters of the Vallauris school, from Picasso to Roger Capron. For her, ceramics are a key element of architecture.
